Il Pizzo è composto da alcune foto del servizio fotografico del matrimonio dei miei genitori, un classico servizio fotografico dell’epoca, con mia madre vestita di illusioni, merletti e pizzi bianchi. a serie fotografica gioca con il titolo che evoca una doppia chiave di lettura, ponendo implicitamente la domanda di quale sia il prezzo da pagare per ottenere la protezione che l’aderenza ad un certo ruolo sociale garantisce.

My parent’s marriage photos’. Lace is tailored only on women’s faces.
Il Pizzo is made up some of my parents’ wedding photos, a classic set of photos for that time, with my mother dressed in illusions and white lace. Like all photos from that period, the pictures are getting older now and the images are starting to fade. Only the lace that I’ve sewn onto them will remain. There is a disquieting transparency in this type of family photos; sewing bits of lace on to them seemed to restore the mystery that the social function seemed to have removed from them.
